unlocked cellphones with us cellular?

So im locked into a contract. Id like to get a new phone without paying retail price for it. I know US cellular uses CDMA network. I know they do not have sim cards. Im looking at getting a blackberry pearl. i know us cellular has them and they are supported on their network. If i purchase an unlocked cellphone off ebay for example, That is for CDMA networks like verizon or something how would i go about activating that phone and deactivating my other phone. Ive been trying to research this myself but cant find any direct answers that layout the step by step process on how to do it.
